Meet your future

After speaking to old students of Grimstaskolan, you should record a discussion with a friend or two talking about the following questions:

Did they tell you anything about high school that you expected them to? What?
Did they tell you anything that you did not think about before? What?
What do you think about high school now?
Are you looking forward to it even more now or is it scarier than before?
Do you have the same plan as before or did it change after talking to them?
What is your plan for the future?

My life in 15 years

Hello there all English learners!

On this link you can find my text about my life in 15 years.  You are allowed to borrow words and expressions from it to your own but remember this is only what I dream of! What is your dream?

Hand in you text NO later than Thursday and make it your best ever :) 

Interviewing your parents

Your second assignment is to interview your parents (in English or Swedish). 

Ask them about their background, for example: 

How was life when they grew up?

What is different between your teen-life and theirs?

What did they dream about growing up?

Did they study anything? 

What job do they have? 

What is important to your parents today? Does it differ from what they thought was important when they were the same age as you are now?

You are free to come up with your own questions, but they should be about your background. 

You can decide on your own if you want to write down your interview or record it. It is up to you! 

I am eleven

Together, we watch the movie "I am eleven" and then you will write a text or make a recording about the following:

Who are you? How do you act and react? What is a strong person?

What do you have in common with others? What makes you different?

What do you like? What makes you happy? What makes you angry?

What is love?

Do you believe? What does religion mean to you?

What is it like to live where you live? Why?

What do you want to become as an adult? Why?

Do you want to change the world? In what ways?

How do you want to change?

Reality Radio: Future

Listen to the radioshow "Reality Radio: Future" in sli.se and then you write a text called:

 I, 15 years from now.

Who are you in 15 years? What does your life look like? Who are you still friends with? What do you work as? Family or single? etc etc...

You can either write is as a description of your life or as a story from a day in your life, you choose!

Google account + sli-konto

Step 1 is to set up a Google account so you can work and save what you do and also share it with others.

Step 2 is to set up a ski-konto so you can log on and watch clips and videos on sli.se. Click on this link to get to the web site where you can start your account.

Listen to "Rough Cuts on Identity" on your own. Link could be found here!

Then, you and a friend should make your own discussion and record it.

Discuss the following questions:

What is an identity? 

Who are you? What is your personality like?

How do you define your identity?

If you were to describe yourself with three words, what would that be?

What do you think others think of you?

Is it easy or difficult being you?

What things influence you?
What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses?
What do you need to work on? 

Remember to motivate your answers, that is: explain why you think the way you do. What makes you think and act in this way?

Use iMovie or GarageBand to record your discussion on the iPads.

My future - introduction

Hi there,

In this course, you will learn how to present yourself and your dreams for the future. We will work together with the career adviser learning about what options and possabilities you have.

You will learn how to present yourself in English using different technical equipments, for example iMovie, Photostory, Keynote and many others.

In the end, you will present yourself in English to a group of friends and to your teacher.
